1973 Ford Mustang Convertible

These 1971-73 Mustangs were the LAST of the fabulous first generation Mustangs. It is very apparent that they were highly influenced by the 1969/70 Shelby’s. The light metallic painted cars do a tremendous job of enhancing the graceful lines of these cars. This particular car even looks great with the top up because of the way the black hockey stripe accents not only the lines of the car but also compliments the black top and dark blue interior. This Mustang is a real joy to drive and has almost every option you could order in 1973.

Most of the time, the entire history of these Mustangs is not known. This is due to the age of the car and the number of owners the car normally has had. We do, however, know a great deal about this car. According to the previous owner, the car was originally owned by one of the Russell-Smith Ford family. The DSO on this car is indeed Houston, Texas. He also stated that he believed the mileage on the car is accurate. The mileage says 72,892..

Let me also tell you some more reasons I believe this to be the correct mileage. All the decals on the car appear to be the original decals including the air cleaner, A/C decal on the radiator core support, the valve cover spec decal, the trunk decal, and the driver’s side door decal with all the door codes on it.

It also appears to have the original top with the folding glass back window and the original ford top decal on the frame of the top. Another item that is quite extraordinary is that the wiper motor still has the original INK stamping on it.

The upholstery is original and although not perfect it is in very nice condition considering it is 36 years old. It even has what is probably one of the original tires that came with the car or certainly the second set of tires for the car. It now has a spare that is in excellent condition.

This car has a great number of factory accessories such as; power disc brakes, A/C, 302 cubic inch V/8 engine, automatic transmission, power top and steering, sport mirrors with driver’s side remote, extra accessory gauge package, luggage rack, day-night mirror plus black hockey stick stripes, stereo 8 track, lower control air idler arm, outer tie rod ends, strut rod bushings, pitman arm, front spoiler and deluxe interior.

 It has had a great deal of money spent on it recently with new exhaust, battery, starter, 4 new tires, front and rear shocks, alternator, locking gas cap, restored convertible top mechanisms and a fairly recent paint job.
