1969 Shelby GT 500 # 619

This stunning GT 500 was the subject of an extensive restoration that was completed in Aug of 2005. I have a binder that has over 100 pages of photos of this very labor intensive restoration. The normal cost of a restoration such as this one is around $50,000. I also have a Deluxe Marti Report on the car and a very rare factory build sheet. It is also documented in the Shelby registry. The original selling Shelby dealer was the famous Galpin Motors in Sepulveda California. I have been fortunate over the years to have some of these Shelby’s in this superb color of Black Jade.  It is extremely good looking especially with the white stripes and the rare white interior. Whenever I am fortunate enough to have a Black Jade Shelby, I always receive numerous praises on how dramatic this particular color accents the sensuous lines of the Shelby. This is particularly true of the 1969/70 Shelby because of the body being so significantly different than the 1969/70 Mustangs and all of the earlier Shelby’s. The amount of light that is on the car changes significantly the color and the lines of the car. The colors change from a beautiful green metallic all the way to an opalescent black. You will see by the numerous and detailed pictures that I have taken how striking this color is  Please notice how  well you can see objects reflecting in this extremely nice paint job. That is a way that you can tell how well and how much attention to detail was taken to paint and restore this car. Remember that there are over 100 pages of documentation showing the extensive restoration that this Shelby had.

Please also notice how detailed the engine compartment is with the correct valve covers, Ford radiator, special Ford hoses and correct ram air breather. Even the proper decals are on the coil, OK battery decal, 428 Cobra Jet Ram Air decal, Caution Fan, blue regulator with Autolite on it, original metal air conditioner plate on compressor, Ford and Shelby spec shock tower decal. Also take a look at how nice and detailed the bolts are.  I cannot tell you how many times I have seen cars with there fender bolt painted.  It is attention to detail that really makes a difference. This car runs extremely well and as you would imagine is very powerful being a 428 Cobra Jet motor.  Believe it or not but the A/C blows nice and cold and the radio and fog lights also work. This car has been in a Museum  in Houston, Texas for a number of years.
