1968
The total production for
1968 GT 500 convertibles was 402. Who knows how many are left. Obviously, it is
a very EXCLUSIVE club. This Shelby Tribute GT 500 is a very accurate tribute in
almost everyway. Only experts could tell the difference between the two. Going
down the road I think it would be impossible!!!
The original examples of
this car in this shape would be priced $125,000 to $150,000.
I am in the process of
receiving the documents soon that state that $69,000 was spent restoring this
Mustang to being a lasting tribute to Carroll Shelby and his legendary street
and race cars.
I drove the car to take
pictures of it and people were almost having wrecks just looking at the car
going down the street. Do not buy this car if you do not like people giving you
the thumbs up at almost every stop light or if you mind people taking pictures
of the car with their cell phone as it will happen frequently.
As you can tell by looking
at the pictures it is in incredible shape. It runs great, has lots of power and
is a blast to drive.
The
engine is a 351
It also
has a very nice AM-FM stereo with special kick panel speakers so you do not have
to put any holes in the interior that are not factory. Also, it has that really
neat and distinctive
REMEMBER THIS WAS THE FIRST YEAR FOR A PRODUCTION
